DALLAS — An Uptown Dallas hotel has quietly — and perhaps unintentionally — created a playful collision of two cultural juggernauts: The enchantment of a Taylor Swift celebration on days typically filled with football.
Over the weekends at Dallas’ Hotel Crescent Court, “SwifTea” is drawing crowds of both Taylor Swift fans and, in some cases, equally devoted football enthusiasts — two groups that have more overlap lately than anyone might’ve expected.
“We get fathers and daughters, mothers with their children, friends getting together,” said Michael Amsbary with Hotel Crescent Court.
Inside the hotel’s elegant dining room, shiny teapots, tiered trays, and desserts with lyrical names fill the tables. Guests can indulge in menu items like “I Knew You Were Truffle” egg salad, “Everything ‘Bagel’ Has Changed,” and “You’re On Your ‘Scone,’ Kid.”
Guests can also play word games — a nod to the singer who “knows Aristotle” — and make friendship bracelets, reminiscent of the Eras Tour. It’s all part of the hotel’s “Life of a Showgirl SwifTea” series: An afternoon experience inspired by Swift’s eras, blending sparkle with connection.
“It’s been really picking up and getting really busy,” Amsbary said. “A lot of people are catching on.”
While SwifTea is officially about tea and treats, WFAA found a few football fans have found a way to enjoy both worlds.
“They were nice enough to put the game on for us,” said Kim Windeler, who attended with her daughter, Kenzie Kirby.
For the mother-daughter duo, it was more than just a themed tea — it was a sentimental experience. Kenzie said her mother raised her to embrace the sport, while Kim said her daughter has her fully engulfed in the world of Swift — the two even flew to London to watch the “Opalite” singer perform.
“Fandom is a good place to live — whether it’s SwifTea or football,” Kim said, noting she booked their reservation during a game she’d planned to watch, but got to do so at the Hotel’s event.
“It’s something we connect on,” added Kenzie. “We maybe wouldn’t have seen each other today if we hadn’t seen [the SwifTea] ad come up.”
The two say SwifTea’s weekend timing is the perfect blend of their interests — whether or not that was intentional on the hotel’s part.
But that kind of connection is exactly what Hotel Crescent Court hoped to inspire. Amsbary says guests often come in pairs or small groups — slowing down to enjoy something playful.
“This is a great opportunity for quality time together,” he said.
Between the Swift-inspired décor, pun-filled menu, and the violinist playing covers of the superstar’s discography, SwifTea offers a calm reminder that sometimes, the best moments of fandom aren’t at the stadium — they’re at the table.
SwifTea is offered on weekends at Hotel Crescent Court, with limited seatings available. Tickets can be purchased on Eventbrite.
