TCU gets trolled online after losing to SMU in ‘Iron Skillet’ game 66-42

The CW made sure to get back at TCU after the Horned Frogs dissed the network in the lead-up to the game.

DALLAS — What goes around comes around — TCU Football learned that the hard way Saturday afternoon.

Before TCU could even blink, they were down 17-0 in the first quarter — and things just never got better as they received a total beatdown from SMU, losing 66-42.

Now, while this “Iron Skillet” rivalry between cross-town schools always has some bad blood mixed in, this one had a bit more tension leading up to it.

On Friday, TCU dissed The CW and the ACC in a SportsCenter-inspired video on X , formerly Twitter, which only added to the bulletin board material.

On top of that, this was the second-to-last meeting between the two for the foreseeable future as TCU reportedly chose to “pause” the rivalry, so SMU was looking to leave a mark — and they did.

After the game, The CW made sure to let TCU know it wasn’t going to let that diss on Friday slide.

The message was simple. The network posted a short clip of the final score with “I Don’t Want to Wait” by Paula Cole playing in the background.

This jab is a callback from TCU’s original diss as they had the same song, which was the opening theme for the teen drama series “Dawson’s Creek,” a show that aired on The WB (now The CW), play in the background of their video.

SMU made sure to have their fun too after the win. Here are some of their funny posts from X:

And the ACC even joined in.
