I love giving the Fronteras guests tours of the Irma & Emilio Nicolas Media Center, TPR’s headquarters, when they come to the studio for an interview.
If the guests didn’t know before arriving, by the time they leave they know Team TPR works in one of the coolest radio stations in town. One of my favorite spots in our HQ is The Mal? & Carlos Alvarez Theater. Here we have hosted Think Science, TPR Music performances, and our Worth Repeating live storytelling series.
The Source broadcasts from The John L. Santikos Studio at the creek level with a view of the new waterfall installation at San Pedro Creek Culture Park.
And that’s just a few features of the first floor.
Our 2nd floor is a large event space that last fall housed over 300 supporters and the one and only Susan Stamberg for our annual Pinnacle dinner. The space will also be home to this June’s ‘PMJA‘, Public Media Journalists Association annual conference.
The 3rd floor hosts our administrative offices and conference rooms, and the 4th floor is our newsroom, where we produce the stories you hear every day.
And the art! Guillermo Nicolas generously donated over 50 contemporary works of art to make our workspaces even more one-of-a-kind.
The space is special — but it’s your support that has helped grow TPR into a news powerhouse, not just in San Antonio, but across Texas. Your support is truly appreciated.
This is the part in the email where you’ll find a link to donate. After you donate, be sure to check out the upcoming events taking place at our home. We’d love for you to see the place! That way, you can see what your investment supports: journalists who are dedicated to real, reliable reporting, and…a whole lot more.
Thanks, and I look forward to meeting you at a future event!
