SAN ANTONIO – A 15-year-old boy who was killed after being ejected in a West Side car crash has been identified as a Taft High School student-athlete.
The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office said Dominic Hernandez died from injuries suffered in the crash, which happened just after 3:30 a.m. Sunday in the 7200 block of Culebra Road.
On Twitter, Taft High School, Taft Raider Football and Taft Athletic Training expressed their condolences to the family.

“To Dom: We will forever miss you and your beautiful smile!!! Thank you for the fun memories. LLD,” the Taft Athletic Training account said in a Twitter post.
According to a preliminary report from SAPD, Hernandez was riding in the back of a white 2011 BMW sedan that was traveling at a high rate of speed going south on Culebra Commons.
The car went around a curve too fast and crashed into the concrete footing of a safety rail.
Hernandez was ejected from the back of the BMW and landed about 15 feet below the road, in a culvert, SAPD said. He was pronounced dead at 3:46 a.m. Sunday
No other vehicles were involved in the crash and no other injuries were reported. The crash is under investigation.
