Teen hospitalized after driving erratically, crashing on East Side, SAPD says

SAN ANTONIO – A 19-year-old driver was hospitalized after crashing his car into a pole on the city’s East Side Monday night, according to San Antonio police.

The crash happened around 8:20 p.m. Monday near South WW White Road and East Houston Street.

Police said the man was driving a Hyundai Accent erratically and at a high rate of speed when he lost control and crashed into a telephone pole near the intersection.

He broke his legs during the crash and was taken to the hospital. His injuries are not life-threatening, police said.
