Tempers flare at Texans training camp a week ahead of first preseason game

It started when Derek Stingley Jr. knocked down tight end Dalton Schultz on Wednesday.

HOUSTON — The big story out of Wednesday’s Texans training camp — some fighting.

A scuffle broke out at a time the media isn’t allowed to record video, but a social media user and Texans fan named Rob got it.

The video shows defensive back Derek Stingley Jr. knocking down tight end Dalton Schultz and then bodies were seen everywhere.

The Texans are just days away from the team’s first preseason game. Are the Texans ready for game conditions?

“Yeah, I think those guys are ready to compete against someone other than us,” said Texans defensive backs coach Dino Vasso.  “So yeah. We’re ready.”

The Texans’ first preseason game is August 1 against the Bears in the Hall of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio. Then two days later, Texans’ legend Andre Johnson will be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
