Tennyson shot 7 for 12 (5 for 9 from 3-point range) and 8 of 8 from the free throw line for the Islanders (12-9, 5-3 Southland Conference). Isaac Mushila scored 25 points while shooting 7 of 9 from the field and 11 for 14 from the line, and added 10 rebounds and three steals. Terrion Murdix recorded 17 points and was 5 of 10 shooting and 7 of 7 from the free throw line.
The Colonels (10-10, 5-3) were led in scoring by Latrell Jones, who finished with 22 points and two blocks. Caleb Huffman added 16 points and two steals for Nicholls State. In addition, Jalen White had 12 points.
