Texas A&M Agrilife Extension offering series to help people with diabetes manage condition

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX)- A Texas A&M AgriLife Extension program looks to help caregivers and people living with Type 2 Diabetes manage the condition.

Do Well Be Well With Diabetes is a free 5 part series that takes place on Fridays starting August 2 through August 30, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The series covers numerous topics to help manage diabetes, including how food affects blood glucose, eating the right number of carbs, improving blood glucose with physical activity or medication, and avoiding complications related to Type 2 Diabetes.

County Extension Agent Flora Williams says this program is something the community really needs.

“It’s something we really need because of the number of people that diabetes touches, and it’s so manageable,” Williams said. “Just learning some small ticks, or tools can really make a big difference with your management of Type 2 Diabetes.”

To sign up for Do Well Be Well With Diabetes, call the Brazos County Extension Office at 979-823-0129.

Registration goes through July 29.
