Texas A&M softball lands experienced catcher Oliva Johnson out of the portal

After getting Texas A&M ace pitcher Emiley Kenndey some help head softball coach Trisha Ford was able to pull former Washington Huskies catcher, Oliva “Ojo” Johnson, out of the transfer portal. The senior will give Coach Ford some senior le adership behind the plate and more options in the batter’s box.

Ford explains why she was excited to land Johnson for the 2025 softball season.

“Ojo is a great addition to our program, and we are happy to have her return to the Lone Star state. We needed to add an experienced catcher from the portal, Ojo has that experience collegiately and internationally. We are excited about her tools defensively and that she can add power to the lineup.”
