Texas A&M is bringing back the black.
The Aggies showed off black jerseys in a video posted to social media Wednesday evening.
On Thursday, A&M confirmed the new threads, providing a link to the “Black Alternate Premier Strategy Jersey” in a post that featured a photo saying, “yeah, it’s back!”
While the jersey has been revealed, Texas A&M has yet to share details about the alternate thread. So far, we’ve yet to see the helmet and pants that will accompany the black jerseys. It has also yet to be announced when the Aggies will sport their alternate threads.

Texas A&M has not sported an alternate color or throwback look too often over the years. The Aggies previously sported black jerseys against Mississippi State in 2012 and South Carolina in 2015.
In 2018, Jimbo Fisher’s first season, A&M sported a 1998 throwback look. Now, the program looks to be sporting an alternate look for Mike Elko’s first season.
The Aggies open the Elko era in the national spotlight. No. 20 Texas A&M will host No. 7 Notre Dame to kick off the 2024 season. The game is set for a national ABC broadcast at 6:30 p.m. ET/7:30 p.m. ET, with ESPN’s College GameDay coming to Bryan-College Station to ring in the first full Saturday of the college football season. FanDuel Sportsbook has Texas A&M favored by 2.5 points against the Irish.
At DraftKings Sportsbook, Texas A&M’s regular-season win total has an over/under of 8.5. The over is priced at -120, while the under is priced at +100. The Aggies lost RB Rueben Owens for the season due to a fall camp injury.
