Last week, I joined Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard at the border.
During our discussion, I explained the devastating impact former President Joe Biden’s open border policies had on our Texas communities and how Texas stepped up through Operation Lone Star – our historic border mission – to defend and protect our state and our nation.
Our border security efforts were so successful, the Trump Administration is using it as a model to secure our border!
I’m grateful to have a partner in the White House who is fighting side-by-side with Texas at the border to finally put an end to the unprecedented crisis created by the Biden Administration.
All our country needed to secure the border was a new President, Friend!

My wife Cecilia, the first Hispanic First Lady of Texas, our daughter, Audrey, and I – plus our three Golden Retrievers, Peaches, Pancake, and Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit – love this great state and are proud to call it home. My life is defined by public service, and I’m honored to continue to serve as your Governor.
