Rescue and reunification operations are continuing in Texas following a deadly flood that swept away multiple people, including girls at Camp Mystic, an all-girls Christian summer camp, officials said during a Saturday morning press conference.
Twenty-seven people are confirmed dead, Kerrville City Manager Dalton Rice told reporters, following the flooding along the Guadalupe River. Of those 27 who died, 18 are adults and nine are children.
Rice said that they are still working to search and rescue people throughout the region.
“Search and rescue operations are continuously ongoing,” he said, adding that people are being found in trees or high grounds.
Rice said road damage is complicating rescues of people who are isolated.
Rice said he would not release a list of names of the children who were missing from Camp Mystic.
