AUSTIN (KXAN) — Texas is currently preparing for its second straight trip to the College Football Playoff, but Longhorn fans can start their prep for 2025 as the SEC announced next season’s schedule.

Texas will have six home games, five road games, and the annual Red River Rivalry game against Oklahoma at the Cotton Bowl.

The 2025 schedule looks much similar to 2024, with the exception of a few different non-conference opponents.

The early highlight of the schedule for Texas is a trip to Ohio State to begin the season on Aug. 30, time TBD.

Texas will return home for three straight facing San Jose State, UTEP, and Sam Houston State. The game against the Bearkats comes after the Longhorns first bye week of the season.

October begins SEC play, and the Longhorns will spend the entire month away from Austin as Texas will travel to Florida on that first Saturday, Oct. 4, time TBD.

The 121st meeting between Texas and Oklahoma will take place on Oct. 11, at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas.

The following week, Oct. 18, the Longhorns will head to Lexington, Kentucky for the first time in program history to face the Kentucky Wildcats.

The next two Saturdays bring a road trip to Mississippi State and a home contest against Vanderbilt, before the Longhorns second and final bye week of the season.

Texas heads to Georgia on Nov. 15th, then returns home to close out the season by facing two rivals, Arkansas and Texas A&M.

The Longhorns first home game against the Aggies since 2010, will be on Nov. 29, kickoff time is TBD.
