(Gray News) – Texas Gov. Greg Abbott quickly covered his tracks after mistakenly sending condolences to former first lady Rosalynn Carter regarding the death of her husband, former U.S. President Jimmy Carter.
Rosalynn Carter died in November 2023 at age 96.
According to KHOU, in a statement on his X account, Abbott wrote, in part, that he was sending “prayers and deepest condolences to First Lady Rosalynn Carter and the entire Carter family.”
The statement was quickly redacted, with a new one being reposted that did not include condolences to Rosalynn Carter.
The new statement now ends with sending “prayers and deepest condolences to the entire Carter family.”
