Texas – San Antonio and Austin are set to experience extreme heat this weekend, with triple-digit temperatures expected across both cities. Saturday is forecasted to be particularly scorching, with San Antonio reaching a high of 97°F and Austin seeing similar temperatures.

According to the National Weather Service, record highs were already set on Thursday. San Antonio recorded 106°F, surpassing the previous August 22nd record of 103°F from 1948. Austin wasn’t spared either, with Camp Mabry hitting 107°F, breaking the previous record of 105°F.

The extreme heat will persist into Sunday, with temperatures again reaching the upper 90s. Residents are advised to take precautions, such as staying hydrated, avoiding outdoor activities during peak heat hours, and checking on vulnerable individuals.

The forecast shows a slight relief starting Monday, with temperatures dipping into the mid-90s. However, the heat will remain a dominant factor throughout the upcoming week. By midweek, San Antonio is expected to reach 94°F, and Austin should experience similar conditions.

As the Texas heatwave continues, local authorities urge everyone to stay informed and prepared.
