Top storylines in UIL State semifinal round
- Top 10 national matchup in 6A-D1 semifinal: Duncanville vs. North Crowley (Duncanville is ranked No. 3 in the nation, North Crowley is No. 9 in the nation). WFAA has featured both Duncanville and North Crowley this season on Friday Night Football. This is going to be the marquee matchup of the weekend you won’t want to miss.
- Will we see Duncanville vs. North Shore Part 6 in 6A-D1 state title game? Duncanville and North Shore have met in the 6A-D1 state championship in six of the last seven years. The only year they weren’t in it was the 2020-21 season, where Westlake and Southlake Carroll squared off. Will Duncanville be able to three-peat led by Gatorade National Player of the Year Keelon Russell ?
- Down goes Aledo: Denton Ryan took out their district winner and back-to-back 5A-D1 state champs in the last round. Will the Raiders ride the momentum to a championship?
- South Oak Cliff (SOC) going for three titles in four years in 5A-D2 after falling to Port Neches-Groves (PNG) last season. SOC just beat PNG in the Region Final round, 56-14.
- Will Brock make the state championship after moving up from 3A-D1 to 4A-D2?
- Malakoff is going for back-to-back championships in 3A-D1
