AUSTIN, Texas — Texas has emerged as the nation’s leader in job creation for the third consecutive year, according to data released by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. The state added 284,200 nonfarm jobs from December 2023 to December 2024, surpassing all other states.
Governor Greg Abbott highlighted Texas’s position as America’s jobs leader, attributing the success to the state’s business-friendly environment and investment in education and career training. “Texas offers businesses the freedom to succeed and hardworking Texans the tools to prosper,” Abbott said. He emphasized the state’s commitment to maintaining its leadership in job creation by working with the Texas Legislature to continue building a stronger future for all Texans. The year 2024 marked record highs for total Texas jobs, the number of Texans employed, and the size of the state’s labor force, according to the press release.
