Texas men’s hoops wins sixth consecutive game, blows out Delaware State 90-68

  

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Texas shot 52% from the field and outscored Delaware State 38-20 in the paint to run away with a 90-68 men’s basketball win Friday at Moody Center.

Freshman Tre Johnson led the way for the Longhorns with 21 points on 8 of 17 shooting and Kadin Shedrick notched a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. He also blocked a pair of shots. Tramon Mark scored 15 points with three steals in 26 minutes off the bench. Texas doubled up Delaware State in bench points 28-14.

The Longhorns scored 20 points off 13 turnovers by the Hornets to help overcome being outrebounded 41-37, and Texas blocked seven shots. Delaware State shot 35% from the field and the Longhorns made nine more field goals 32-23.

After an 80-72 loss to Ohio State in the first game of the season, Texas has won six consecutive games.

Texas (6-1) takes on North Carolina State at 8:15 p.m. CT on Wednesday in the SEC-ACC Challenge in Raleigh, North Carolina. The game will be broadcast on ESPN2
