With hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens having poured across our borders over the last few years, all of our social services are beginning to feel the stress of the border crisis. That includes our prison system, which is now full of criminal illegal aliens.

Texas State Representative Steve Toth told KTRH, “You literally have people that are on the terrorist watch list, that come into our prison system, and are brutal towards our Texas prison guards.” Toth says this is making it difficult to give prisons the staff they need to function properly.

Toth also says that he’s now being stonewalled by the Democrats on the issue. He said, “We’re trying to keep Texas safe right now, we are trying to be good partners with the federal government in closing our border, and yet, this is what we get from these Democrat committee chairs.”

Toth sent a letter to Democrat Representative Abel Herrero asking for information on the effects of the border crisis on our prison system. Herrero still has yet to respond. Toth says this is exactly why we shouldn’t have Democrat-controlled committees in the Republican Texas House.
