AUSTIN, Texas — Nearly 80 school superintendents in Texas have been notified about receiving National School Lunch Program Equipment Grants. These grants will allow schools to purchase essential tools like ovens, mixers, and coolers, according to the Texas Department of Agriculture.
In early January, Commissioner Sid Miller reached out to the superintendents to inform them of the grants, which are aimed at enhancing the capabilities of school food authorities (SFAs). The initiative is part of the ongoing efforts to support Texas agriculture and improve school meal programs, stated the Texas Department of Agriculture.
