‘The Darker Part of the Party’: CNN’s Van Jones Goes There, Says Walz Pick Is for ‘Anti-Jewish Bigots’

The Democrat Party. Bless their hearts. What’s that old saying? They could “screw up a two-car funeral?” Yeah, that. This is a perfect example.

CNN clown — er, host — Van Jones told fellow CNN clown — er, host — Jim Acosta on Tuesday that Kamala Harris’s pick of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her vice presidential running mate is nothing more than an appeal to “the darker side” of the Democrat Party, AKA: “anti-Jewish bigots.” You know what? Good for Jones.

imageAcosta kicked off the festivities by asking Jones what he thought about Harris picking Walz instead of Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro (D) and if he thought it was a “little risky” that Harris didn’t go with Shapiro.

Jones responded:

Hey, listen to the conservatives, the right-wing Republicans, they were chewing their fingernails down to the knuckle because they were afraid of a Josh Shapiro.

How can I say this tactfully? Oh hell no, we weren’t. And even better, we now have target-rich Walz to shred.

Anyway, Jones was just getting started, going on to say Muslims and Arabs have not “felt seen by the Biden administration” as the reason Harris picked Walz. “People don’t want to talk about it — we got to talk about it.”

He then called Walz’s pick a blatant appeasement to “anti-Semitism” as he fawned over Shapiro.

Look, Josh Shapiro is a class act from beginning to end. He’s a rising star in this party. He’s done an extraordinary job. He gets Republican votes, independent voters, moderate votes, smurfs vote for him, muppets vote for him, I mean, the guy is a vote magnet and there’s a reason for that. He is a class act.

He’s a — he’s a true American, and he’s going to show up and he’s gonna – On the one hand, you have a lot of young people who are concerned about Gaza. You have a lot of Muslims and Arabs and others, they have not felt seen by the Biden administration. You started hearing that genocide joke, that was building that was building and so those folks needed to have a candidate that they could feel comfortable with. This helps him in that regard.

But you also have anti-Semitism that has gotten marbled into this party. You can be for the Palestinians without being an anti-Jewish bigot. But there are some anti-Jewish bigots out there and there’s some disquiet now and there has to be. How much of what just happened is caving into some of these darker parts in the party? So that’s going to have to get worked out. It’s going to have to get talked through.

Dude, yeah.

Comically, Jones said these things will need to be “worked out” and praised Shapiro by saying he has a “magnificent future in this party.” Don’t misunderstand me; Jones was mostly right, but the messed up Democrat Party is an oxymoronic mess.

The Bottom Line

There is no more loyal ally to Israel on the planet than the American Republican Party. Yet, Jewish Americans overwhelmingly vote Democrat, and the likes of Barack Obama, Joe Biden, and Kamala Harris throw Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Jewish state under the bus at every concocted opportunity.

Go figure.
