Some 250 of these prisoners were serving life sentences. In addition to that, Israel will also release about 1000 terrorists captured after October 7. Israel will not release any of the terrorists involved in the massacre of 15 months ago. Supposedly, Hamas agrees to a cease-fire indefinitely and gets a lot of foreign money for rebuilding. At the moment, the cease-fire is scheduled to take place this coming Sunday. I’ll sit tight and wait for more information, but I do have this reservation about things.

If “Palestinians” don’t kick Hamas out of their political system and replace them with a government that:
a) Admits defeat and makes peace with Israel via treaty
b) Reneges on its longtime promise to kill all the Jews
c) Destroys all the tunnels
d) And — the Big One — repudiates terrorism and either deports followers of Hamas or tries to imprison them…
…then I don’t think anything will ever change. Israel will just be kicking the can down the road for a few years until the “Palestinians” get all uppity again and start doing what they do. Leopards don’t change their spots, after all.

I really don’t understand why the Israelis made any such deal while their foot is on the Hamas neck, although it seems like the people are getting tired of the war and want their hostages back. What negotiating power do the terrorists have, especially now that Trump is probably going to sell the IDF whatever it wants?
I don’t know….maybe it’s the world opinion thing. Maybe they are afraid of becoming a pariah, because they get no support for counter-attacking from anybody except conservative Americans. And I think it’s too late for them to get back in the world’s good graces even if the world is wrong. They’re going to hate Israel no matter what because of antisemitism or support for “Palestinians.”

I guess we’ll see, but it looks like a bad deal to me at this point. I don’t think Hamas is going anywhere. They’ll just steal all the aid and use it for their tunnels and their bombs. And the whole stupid thing is going to start all over again.
