FORT WORTH, Texas — The Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo kicks off Friday Jan 17.
The event will last through Saturday, Feb 8. Here’s everything you need to know to make the most out of the annual event, which takes place at Will Rogers Memorial Center and Dickies Arena in Fort Worth. The schedule is packed, and we can’t fit everything here. To get the full schedule go here.
Here are the basics. General admission costs $15 for adults and $8 for children aged 6 – 16. Children under 5 get in for free.
Visitors can take advantage of several discount days throughout the stock show and rodeo’s run. Here’s the full list of discount days.
- Dickies Day – Jan. 21: Wear Dickies clothing for free general admission.
- Texas A&M Day – Jan 23: Wear Texas A&M logoed items to receive free general admission. Half-price rodeo tickets for gallery seating are available to anyone with a current valid A&M student, faculty or staff ID card.
- TCU Day – Jan 30: Wear TCU garb to get free general admission. Half-price rodeo tickets for gallery seating are now available to anyone with a current valid TCU student, faculty or staff ID card.
- Military Appreciation Day – Feb 3: Rodeo tickets, which include general admission, are provided free to active duty and retired service members and their immediate families.
- Texas Tech Day – Feb 4: Red Raider fans wearing Texas Tech logoed products receive free general admission. Half-price rodeo tickets for gallery seating are available to anyone with a current valid Texas Tech student, faculty or staff ID card.
You can also support charitable causes by choosing to attend on Jan 28 and Feb 5.
Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo Parade
The parade is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan 18, according to the stock show and rodeo. The parade will weave through downtown Fort Worth and feature over 2,000 horses, marching bands, floats and dignitaries.
The parade is free to attend and there is some free seating along the route. However, if you want a reserved spot, it will cost you $25 to sit in Sundance Square and $15 to sit near the convention center.
Tickets must be ordered ahead of time online, by phone or in person at the Dickies Arena box office. The parade ticket can also be used for general admission to the Stock Show on one day throughout its run.
Rodeo
Ropers and riders will converge on Fort Worth to compete in rodeos throughout the event run. Competitors will compete in events like bull riding, saddle bronc riding, and steer wrestling and barrel racing. The price of tickets varies depending on the events. Here’s a full breakdown.
