The Harvest Celebration in Houston celebrates its 75th anniversary

The annual Harvest Celebration, co-sponsored by the Houston Bar Association (HBA), Houston Bar Foundation (HBF), and Houston Bar Association Auxiliary (HBAA), is celebrating its 75th anniversary at 7 p.m. on November 11 at River Oaks Country Club in Houston. All net proceeds directly support pro bono services through Houston Volunteer Lawyers (HVL), according to a press release.

Since 1999, the Harvest Celebration has been a fundraiser with net benefit proceeds going to HVL, the pro bono arm of the HBA, and its essential legal services in the greater Houston area. The Harvest Celebration has raised over $12 million for HVL since 1999 and last year, HVL provided more than $12 million worth of pro bono legal services to the community, according to a press release.

“We are proud to serve as co-chairs of the 75th Annual Harvest Celebration, a major milestone in the event’s longstanding history to support access to justice through Houston Volunteer Lawyers,” HBA President David Harrell and HBF Chair Linda Hester said in a press release. “We extend our sincere gratitude to all of our sponsors and attendees. Your support helps HVL transform lives and create a lasting impact to assist our Houston neighbors in need.”

By supporting the Harvest Celebration, law firms, individuals, and companies are helping HVL provide pro bono legal services that support recovery and healing, such as legal recourse after a natural disaster, landlord tenant issues, consumer issues, domestic problems, and estate planning. Every dollar donated to the Harvest Celebration Campaign is amplified into $4 of pro bono legal services provided to the greater Houston community.
