DALLAS — It’s a black tie (or jersey) affair, y’all.
The Dallas Mavericks will open the NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics on Thursday, June 6 wearing their black City edition uniforms. So far during this playoff run, the Mavs have worn the black uniforms in Game 6, games they’ve closed opponents out in, prompting fans online to deem Game 6 their “funeral game.”
The Mavs beat both the Clippers and Thunder in Game 6, at home, while donning those all-black uniforms. Then, Dallas was set to wear black in Game 6 against the Timberwolves, but we all know it didn’t get that far.
For the NBA Finals, Dallas is scheduled to wear black potentially three times, if the series were to go seven games.
Here is a look at the NBA Finals jersey schedule (home team listed first):

- Game 2: Boston – Statement (Black), Dallas – Association (White)
- Game 3: Dallas – Statement (Navy), Boston – Association (White)
