The Ragin’ Cajuns are headed to Texas A&M for the NCAA baseball regionals; details here

The UL Ragin’ Cajuns baseball team will join Texas A&M, Texas and Grambling in the College Station regional to begin its NCAA tournament run.

The Cajuns exited the Sun Belt Conference tournament quietly, finishing 0-2. But they are buoyed by a 40-18 overall record and the regular-season championship, as well as a No. 38 overall RPI rating.

The Cajuns will open against Texas at 5 p.m. Friday after the noon game between Texas A&M and Grambling.

It’ll be a regional of familiarity. The Cajuns lost to Texas 4-2 in the first round of the Coral Gables regional last year. Two years ago, the Cajuns defeated TCU in the opening game of the College Station regional, but then fell to the host Aggies 9-5.

UL also defeated Grambling at home earlier this season.

UL is 9-14 all time vs. Texas A&M and 8-34 in the all-time series against Texas.
