The winner is in… fans vote to bring Blue Bell Groom’s Cake flavor back to store shelves

The flavor is “a luscious chocolate ice cream with chocolate cake pieces and chocolate coated strawberry hearts, surrounded by swirls of strawberry sauce.”

DALLAS — After a bracket challenge, Blue Bell is bringing back a certified fan-favorite flavor.

Groom’s Cake is set to make its triumphant return to the freezer aisle. The flavor is described as “a luscious chocolate ice cream with chocolate cake pieces and chocolate coated strawberry hearts, surrounded by swirls of strawberry sauce and chocolate icing. “

The flavor won it all in the Great Scoop Revival, where fans voted to bring back one of 16 discontinued flavors.

The Groom’s Cake flavor was initially launched by the Texas-based creamery back in 2017, but was discontinued the next year. Since then, fans have been missing it. One couple even created an online petition to bring it back

Groom’s Cake’s “sister”–or should we say “wife”–flavor, Bride’s Cake, is on store shelves now as a part of the company’s rotational flavor list.

It may be in its name, but Groom’s Cake did not have a cakewalk to the finals. The flavor beat out heavy hitters like Red Velvet Cake, Strawberry Cheesecake and Hot Fudge Brownie before taking on Cookie Cake in the final vote.

Blue Bell announced Groom’s Cake will return to store shelved in 2025.
