These are the top storylines as the Texans open up training camp

It’s the most anticipated season in years as the team tries to improve from last season, which ended in the postseason.

HOUSTON — It’s here! The most anticipated Texans season in years. Here are the top storylines ahead of training camp.

We’ll start with No. 1. How will the offense best utilize all of its weapons, new and old? It’s year two for offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik. Sure, the Texans have added Stefon Diggs and Joe Mixon, but there’s only one football and you’re paying Nico Collins to be a No. 1 receiver. How Slowik spreads the wealth will be fascinating to watch.

Also, will the additions on the defensive line be enough? The Texans were shredded by the Ravens in the playoffs. They’ve added Denico Autry and Danielle Hunter. Those two combined for 28 sacks a year ago. Can they meet that production this fall?

Also, is wide receiver Tank Dell fully recovered from being shot in the offseason and how much will he improve this year?

And then there’s Kamari Lassiter, the rookie cornerback from Georgia. Is he ready to start opposite Derek Stingley Jr.? Lassiter looked good in minicamp, but that’s minicamp.

And how much higher will C.J. Stroud elevate his game after an incredible rookie season? There is something in sports called a sophomore slump.

And what about the guys protecting Stroud? Two spots appear to be up for grabs on that offensive line. Will Kenyon Green live up to his draft status and claim a guard spot?

All questions as training camp gets underway. The KHOU 11 sports team will be watching for the answers!
