They’re back! Texans take the field for first day of training camp

In what may be one of the most anticipated seasons in the history of the franchise, the Texans hit the field Thursday.

HOUSTON — The Houston Texans hit the field on Thursday morning, kicking off training camp in what may be one of the most anticipated seasons since the franchise came to be earlier this century.

Rookie quarterback CJ Stroud is back after rewriting the record books in his rookie campaign. The team signed offensive weapons Stefon Diggs and Joe Mixon in the offseason. They also brought in defensive star Danielle Hunter to play alongside last season’s Defensive Rookie of the Year Will Anderson.

KHOU 11 has you covered throughout training camp with Jason Bristol, Zack Tawatari and Luis Ortiz. Make sure to follow them for updates.

KHOU 11’s Luis Ortiz was there for GM Nick Caserio’s opening day news conference.  Here are a few of his takeaways.

And a sight Texans fans love to see — No. 7 CJ Stroud back on the field. Last year’s Offensive Rookie of the Year walked out with veteran Case Keenum.

While storms moved through Houston early, by the time training camp opened, players were just dealing with a little wind and raindrops…and cooler-than-normal temperatures.
