This North Texas city was named one of the best places to live in the U.S. — again

 

Flower Mound was named the No. 4 best place to live in Texas by U.S. News and World Report.

FLOWER MOUND, Texas — Flower Mound was named one of the best places to live in America by U.S. News and World Report. 

The outlet, which is known for its rankings, named Flower Mound the 14th best place to live in the U.S. and the fourth best place to live in Texas. 

U.S. News & World Report determined its ranking by using data from a variety of internal and government sources, according to the outlet’s article. The data is then categorized into five indices and weighted based on a public survey. The indices include: 

  • Quality of life index 
  • Value index 
  • Desirability index
  • Job market index 
  • Net migration 

The 2025-2026 rankings evaluated more than 850 major U.S. cities to come up with the top 250 best places to live. 

Flower Mound received an overall score of 6.8 out of 10. 

“Flower Mound offers a higher value of living compared to similarly sized cities,” according to U.S. News & World Report. 

Pearland was the No. 1-ranked Texas city on the list, coming in at No. 3 on the national list. Texas’ League City and Leander also made the top 10 in the national list of best places to live. In all, 69 Texas cities made the list of the 250 top U.S. cities to live in. 

Mansfield, Frisco, McKinney, Allen, North Richland Hills, Carrollton and Rowlett all made the top 100 list. 

Flower Mound was also recently named the best place to live in the U.S. in a ranking by Livability.
