Thoughts and Prayers for Chris Hemsworth After Recent Speech Is Compared to Harrison Butker’s

I think it’s safe to say that woke online outrage mobsters have failed in their endeavor to have Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker fired over the May 11th Catholic-themed commencement address he gave in which he paid homage to motherhood, and thanked his wife, Isabelle, for giving up on her career dreams to become a wife and mother.

Since that time, though some truly warped suggestions have been made regarding his future with the Chiefs organization, Butker has received an outpouring of support, including from coach Andy Reid and quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who both gave strong defenses of Butker during an off-season press conference last Wednesday.

So with the issue of Butker’s cancellation presumably balled up and thrown into File 13 (at least for now, anyway!), we turn to another speech, given by actor Chris Hemsworth at his Hollywood “Walk of Fame” ceremony last Thursday.

Hemsworth was accompanied by his wife, actress Elsa Pataky (seen above with Hemsworth in a photo from the 2018 movie “12 Strong”), and their three young children.

During the remarks he gave at the event, he made sure to profusely thank Pataky for the sacrifices she made as he climbed the ladder to success:

“I want to say thank you to my beautiful wife who has been here for my entire career, basically, by my side. [Who] is endlessly encouraging and supportive. And it doesn’t get lost upon me that she put aside her own dreams in order to support mine. And, I’m again, forever in your debt, and the fact that nothing that I do, any of these moments, special occasions, all these events, none of it’s as special without you by my side.”

Hemsworth’s speech was compared by some to Butker’s. Before we get to the humorous hot takes, here’s a refresher on what Butker said about his wife:

“I’m on the stage today and able to be the man I am because I have a wife who leans into her vocation. I’m beyond blessed with the many talents God has given me, but it cannot be overstated that all of my success is made possible because a girl I met in band class back in middle school would convert to the faith, become my wife, and embrace one of the most important titles of all: homemaker.”

In response to Hemsworth’s comments, one Twitter user joked “Can the Kansas City social media team also tweet out where he lives,” a reference to the now-former Kansas City government employee who tweeted out personal information about where Butker and his family live a few days after his Benedictine College address.

Another quipped about how the speech was “unacceptable, the chiefs must cut him immediately.”

Perhaps best of all for Butker were the comparisons to the same guy who played “Thor”:

Even off the field, Butker’s winning streak against the woke mob continues. You love to see it. You truly do.
