TOP O’ THE MORNIN’

The Fallout From the Kamala Harris ‘Drunk’ Video Gets Even More Brutal

Whether Harris wants to openly admit her failures on the fronts mentioned above or not, I suspect they – and what went wrong on what was supposed to be her indestructible presidential campaign – are weighing heavily on her.

Bending the Knee: Now Mark Zuckerberg Makes the Pilgrimage to Mar-a-Lago

Maybe a leopard can change its spots. Maybe Facebook/Meta will stop censoring and throttling and manipulating data, but this one visit to Mar-a-Lago is not enough to convince me.

WHAT’S ON TAP?

Today on Capitol Hill…

No activity on the Hill today, of course, although with it being Turkey Day, one might think there’d be some. Of course, whispers have already begun regarding 2026 and — Heaven forfend — 2028, but I refuse to go there until we’ve at least gotten through Inauguration Day.

White House What’s Up

President Joe Biden remains in Nantucket, Massachusetts, where he and First Lady Jill are celebrating a quiet Thanksgiving at the home of friend and The Carlyle Group co-founder David Rubenstein. They are scheduled to “call members of the military and thank them for their service” late Thursday morning.

Full Court Press…

No court Thursday, of course, compliments of the holiday. While we’re still waiting on that appellate court decision in President-elect Donald Trump’s civil fraud case, there was a twist to the story yesterday when his appellate attorney (and soon-to-be Solicitor General) D. John Sauer penned a letter to New York Attorney General Letitia James imploring her to consider dropping the whole matter. No word yet on Tish’s response.

MORNING MUSING

On this Thanksgiving Day, 2024, I’ll simply take the opportunity to say that I’m thankful for so many things — my family, my loved ones, my health, God’s grace. And I’m thankful to work with some of the most amazing, talented writers here at RedState and for all of you, Dear Readers, who help make what we do here day-in and day-out worthwhile. Wishing you all a blessed day — may it be filled with countless reasons for you to be thankful as well.

LIGHTER FARE

I don’t even like sweet potato casserole (yes, I know, I’m a heathen) and it’s still an easy call…
