Thursday’s storms, heavy rain have triggered a WFAA Weather Alert Day. Here’s what you need to know.

 

Widespread showers and storms are expected Wednesday night into Thursday.

DALLAS — Thursday is a WFAA Weather Alert Day. 

This is because of widespread showers and thunderstorms moving into North Texas Wednesday night into Thursday morning. Prepare for traffic delays during Thursday morning’s commute. Don’t forget to download the WFAA App so that you can be alerted while you are on the go. Be sure to download WFAA+ on your smart TV so that you can catch extra coverage of the incoming rain.

WHEN

Thursday 3am – 10am

Scattered rain will start Tuesday night with higher coverage through the day Wednesday. The heaviest rain moves in after midnight Wednesday night and lasting through Thursday morning’s commute. 

IMPACT

Heavy rain could accumulate to 2 to 3 inches leading to localized flooding. Isolated strong storms could produce small hail up to quarter-size with wind gusts up to 60 mph. The threat for severe weather is low and highest south of North Texas.
