“To bring his name and brand along with Bluejack to this area, I think is really, really special on a lot of fronts,” PGA Tour player J. J. Henry said.
ALEDO, Texas — A new golf course designed by Tiger Woods is under construction in Aledo, just outside Fort Worth, as part of the Bluejack Ranch Golf Course Community development project.
PGA Tour player J.J. Henry, who is partnering with Woods on the project, reflected on the unique collaboration.
“I used to try to compete against him for 20-plus years,” Henry said.
The local development is important to Henry, who is a proud TCU graduate. The golf legend has made several visits to the site, reviewing the design details.
“He was literally blown away with what he saw,” J. J. Henry said. “To bring his name and brand along with Bluejack to this area, I think is really, really special on a lot of fronts.”
Woods shared his enthusiasm about the project last month with his more than 6 million Twitter followers, stating “Mighty fine design visit at Bluejack Ranch…Something special is on the horizon.”
“When he comes in, it’s mostly the strategy, how long the holes are? How tough is it around the greens? How tough is it around the bunkers?” Developer Andy Mitchell said on Woods’ involvement.
The development will feature a gated community of 600 luxury homes with starting prices at $1.2 million. Mitchell also noted plans for additional development in the surrounding area. Bluejack Ranch is designed for the entire family to enjoy. It’s also designed for every level of golfer and even non-golfers to come and enjoy.
“We got over 60 acres of commercial property we are going to do outside our gates,” Mitchell said.
The Bluejack Ranch development is scheduled to open in 2026.
