Tim Walz Appears Unannounced at PA Delegate Breakfast, Calls on Dems to Thank Joe Biden

Minnesota Governor and vice-presidential candidate Tim Walz showed up unannounced at the Pennsylvania Democratic National Convention delegates breakfast Monday. His purpose? President Joe Biden’s much-anticipated (with a mixture of trepidation and horror) speech will happen Monday evening, and Governor Walz wanted to inform the Pennsylvania delegates that this was their chance to say “thank you.”

Yes, I know — that’s enough to provoke dry heaving in and of itself. But it gets better.

“We get an opportunity tonight to say a thank you to the best president of my lifetime that I’ve been able to witness, to someone who’s delivered time and time again, someone who made the selfless act of handing that torch to an incredible leader,” Walz said.

His speech was sandwiched between the state’s Gov. Josh Shapiro and other high profile governors: JB Pritzker of Illinois and Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan.

The Harris campaign said that Walz also made a surprise appearance at the Wisconsin delegate breakfast earlier on Monday, which featured Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers, Maryland Gov. Wes Moore and New York Gov. Kathy Hochul.

This prompts the question, of course, “Thanks for what?” Well, as it happens, I have some thoughts on that. (That’s more than I can say for Tim Walz.)

So, yes, let’s say “Thanks, Joe!”

Thanks, Joe, for the worst inflation in 40 years . Thanks for a nearly 40 percent increase in the prices of many food items, gasoline, heating oil, and natural gas. Here in the Susitna Valley, gasoline was around $2 a gallon when you took office in 2021. Now it’s nearing $4 a gallon, and I’d point out that here in the Great Land, we’re sitting on huge oil and gas reserves that your administration has done everything they can to shut down. And, while we’re talking about groceries? Thanks for blaming the retailers, who operate on the thinnest of margins, for the inflation you’ve caused.

Thanks, Joe, for the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan, one of the worst military screw-ups since Pickett’s Charge. Your genius political generals abandoned the major military airhead, forcing the evacuation to go through a commercial airport in the middle of Kabul. This cluster foul-up cost the lives of 13 American servicemen and women and left behind billions of dollars in state-of-the-art equipment that the Taliban are still parading around today.

While we’re on it, thanks, Joe, for turning our military into a DEI-ridden jobs program for the neurotic. The United States once fielded the greatest military machine in human history; since the end of World War 2, the sea lanes were patrolled by the United States Navy, and since the end of the Cold War, much of the world has lived in a de facto Pax Americana, knowing that the big kid on the block was the best that’s ever been at finding and un-aliving bad guys. That’s not the case anymore; readiness has suffered, and the rot won’t be cut out easily.

So, yes, let’s all thank Joe Biden for being the worst President in living memory — a living memory that encompasses Barack Obama and Jimmy Carter. Let’s thank him for clinging to power as his slide into dementia accelerated until his attempt at a presidential debate was so embarrassing that not even the Democrats could whistle past that graveyard any longer. Let’s thank him for selecting a cackling imbecile as his vice president and for inflicting her on us as his erstwhile replacement and if the republic is indeed unfortunate, the next president.

Thanks, Joe!
