Although no measles cases have been confirmed in San Antonio and Bexar County, the number of reported infections across Texas is rising.
Health experts are warning of a potential exposure risk for hundreds of thousands of residents as the virus spreads rapidly across the state.

As of Friday, March 28, 400 cases have been identified in Texas since late January, according to the Texas Department of State Health Services. Of those, 36 patients were hospitalized.

According to the Associated Press, an unvaccinated child died from measles on Tuesday, Feb. 25 at a Lubbock hospital. This marks the first measles-related death in the U.S. since 2015.
The department releases new stats every Tuesday and Friday.
