The annual display has a bigger space, which means more trains.
DALLAS — Trains make the holidays magical.
However, to capture that magic no one needs to go to the North Pole, instead head to NorthPark Center.
The 37th annual Trains at NorthPark exhibition opens Nov. 16 and runs through Jan. 5. It’s a miniature, detailed journey across America.
“Truly, as you walk through here it’s a different experience every corner you turn,” said Roger Farkash, owner of TW Trainworx, the company behind the trains.
Farkash fell in love with trains when he was first gifted a toy train at the age of three. Now, he and his team are one of the premiere model railroading companies and install train exhibitions all over the country.
At NorthPark, more than 40 trains are on display, chugging along three thousand feet of track inside the biggest space they’ve ever had.
It’s so big they’ve added trains, including a vintage train, a LEGO train and more.
“This is the biggest space we’ve ever had,” said Jill Kumnock, CEO of Ronald McDonald House Dallas. “I think we have everything we’ve ever created all in this one space.”
Trains at NorthPark is Ronald McDonald House’s biggest fundraiser, and Kumnock said they hope to bring in more than $1 million.
“Not only are they getting to have a really fun experience, but 100 percent of that goes back for us to be able to serve families at the Ronald McDonald House,” she said.
