AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Travis County District Clerk’s Office issued a warrant on Sept. 13 for a convicted arsonist who failed to appear at his sentencing hearing earlier that day, according to court records.
Richard Dale Price, 60, had pled guilty to felony arson causing reckless damage to a building.
Austin Fire Department arson investigators arrested Price while investigating a number of dumpster fires occurred in north Austin. An AFD arson investigator allegedly spotted observed Richard Dale Price walking near a dumpster fire, according to an April 2 press release from the Austin Police Department.
At the time, Price was charged with one felony count of arson and one misdemeanor count of criminal mischief. Travis County court records show that Price was only convicted of felony arson.
The public is directed to contact their local law enforcement if they encounter Price.
