Triple digit tally continues 🌡️

FORECAST HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Another 100° day in SA
  • Sunny and dry pattern persists
  • Ernesto is strengthening in the Atlantic, will have no impact on the mainland U.S.

FORECAST:

Today marked our 17th triple digit day so far this year, which is far less than this time the last two years (48 days and 58 days respectively).

Last year at this time, we were in the midst of a record stretch of triple digit heat and ended up with 23 consecutive days of 100° or higher (7/30-8/21). While we aren’t anticipating rivaling that streak, we are going to string together several triple digit days.

Tropical Storm Ernesto is likely to soon become a Hurricane as it turns northward and heads toward Bermuda. Further strengthening is likely, but it will stay away from the U.S.
