Truck driver hit, killed by car Sunday on LBJ Freeway

 

The driver got out of his truck after hitting a retaining wall and was hit by a car, police say.

DALLAS — A truck driver was killed early Sunday morning on LBJ Freeway after being hit by a car, police say. 

At about 2:45 a.m., police say they were called to the accident at eastbound LBJ Freeway and Miller Road. The driver of the tractor trailer was reportedly driving east on 635 and hit a retaining wall. After getting out of the truck, he was hit by a car. 

The driver of the car that hit the victim remained at the scene, police say. The victim was taken to a hospital by Dallas Fire Rescue, but died before arriving. 

The victim has not been identified as of Sunday evening, pending next of kin notification.

The investigation is ongoing.
