Trump Campaign Reports Massive August Donation Haul—Almost ALL of It From Small Donors

Welcome, September! Specifically, Sept. 4 marks less than a day before we sit at two months until Election Day. Where are the major parties’ presidential campaigns in fundraising for the home stretch? Now we have part of the answer–and it’s good news for former President Donald Trump.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Donald Trump ’s campaign says that it brought in $130 million in August, not as much as the month prior but a figure that his advisers said put the GOP nominee in good position for the remaining two months of the general election campaign.

The report continued:

Reporting $327 million on hand at the start of August, Trump advisers said the campaign ended the month with $295 million cash on hand.

I think this is worth highlighting who is giving most of the donations to Trump. It isn’t big, one-time donors, but small donors who gave just under $60, the sign of a healthy donor effort:

Most of that figure — 98% — came in the form of donations under $200, Trump’s campaign said Wednesday, with an average donation of $56.

No word yet from Team Kamala on how their month went. Their last missive said that between the day President Joe Biden announced he was stepping aside from the Democrat nomination and the Sunday of the week the party held the DNC to make Vice President Harris the standard-bearer, they took in $540 million.

As ever, we’ll keep you posted on developments.
