WATCH: Epic Moment Suspects Realize There Are Consequences Again for Shoplifting in California
People are so fed up even in California, they’re demanding change; they’re showing they want some action holding criminals accountable, and they aren’t going to stand for all the shoplifting that has been going on.
Anthony Scaramucci on CNN Makes Weird Mob Boss-Esque Threat Against Elon Musk
That people in the government can “hurt you,” as Scaramucci says, for crossing them is exactly why Washington must be reformed.
LGBTQ Activists Convicted of Abuse and Trafficking of Their Adopted Sons Are Sentenced
Now the Georgia court has done the right thing in bringing justice for two young boys who only desired to be taken into a loving home and instead were violated and subjected to untold horrors. They need our prayers for healing this Christmas.
WHAT’S ON TAP?
Today on Capitol Hill…
It’s quiet, of course, on the Hill this Christmas Eve — perhaps not quiet enough for some people’s preference. On Monday, the House Ethics Committee formally released the report of its investigation into former Congressman Matt Gaetz (R-FL), setting off a firestorm over the decision.
Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) continues to play the role of the “reasonable” Democrat, to the pleasant surprise of many. (With Joe Manchin (I-WV) and Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ) departing as the 118th Congress draws to a close, perhaps Fetterman senses the advantage in stepping into that potential swing vote role.)

Other stuff that flew a bit under the radar in the waning days of this Congress:
White House What’s Up
Unsurprisingly, a practical lid has already been called on the day for President Joe Biden. He’s set to receive his Daily Brief, but that’s it. No doubt, he’s enjoying his last White House Christmas with his family close by…
Full Court Press…
There’s a court hearing in Chicago on Tuesday morning to sort out (or attempt to sort out) leadership of the Chicago Public Schools.
And it looks like there’ll be no Christmas surprise regarding President-elect Donald Trump’s civil fraud appeal — the court previously had listed December 24 as a decision date, but now the court’s decision calendar ends at December 19. So we’ll have to wait until 2025, it appears, to learn what the appellate court plans to do with the case.
MORNING MUSING
I had the privilege of subbing in and hosting the Mike Ferguson in the Morning Show on NewsTalkSTL this Christmas Eve morning. We talked plenty of politics and news, but we also wrapped the show by talking about some of our favorite Christmas treats, memories, and traditions. My favorite Christmas tradition, in addition to attending Christmas Eve services, is getting the tree up and lit and then turning the lights down and just basking and reflecting in the glow of it. There’s something extraordinarily peaceful and soothing about it. However you celebrate, whatever your traditions are, I hope you’re all enjoying your Christmas Eve and filled with the joy and peace we all long for.

LIGHTER FARE
I’ll confess — I’ve had cats who climbed the Christmas tree in years past but never was forced to resort to something of this nature, thankfully. These days, I just need to make sure there’s sufficient clearance around the tree that the dog doesn’t run into it while doing her zoomies.
