The man admitted to recording himself having sex with a 16-year-old girl. When police searched his phone, though, they found a video with another victim.
PLAINVIEW, Texas — A 28-year-old Texas man pleaded guilty to child porn after admitting to recording himself having sex with a 16-year-old girl.
Police also found a video of the man having sex with a different 16-year-old girl, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.
Federal officials said officers with the Amarillo Police Department received a tip in June 2023 that Alejandro Aguirre, of Plainview, Texas, was contacting minors through a social media application and that he had sexual intercourse with at least one minor. One of the minors, a 16-year-old girl, was forensically interviewed and said that Aguirre had sexual intercourse with her in Amarillo, according to the DOJ.
When Amarillo police interviewed Aguirre, he admitted to having sex with the minor and recording it on his cell phone. Amarillo detectives got a search warrant for his cell phone and found a video on his phone that Aguirre had described, but the minor in the video was not who Amarillo police had forensically interviewed, officials said.
Amarillo police then contacted the Plainview Police Department to identify the minor in the video. The Plainview Police Department identified the minor as a 16-year-old girl from Plainview. The Plainview 16-year-old was forensically interviewed and said Aguirre had messaged her on social media. The girl told investigators that Aguirre made a video of them having sex in Plainview, which was the video found on Aguirre’s cell phone, the DOJ said.
Aguirre faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years and up to 30 years in federal prison, according to the DOJ. His sentencing date has not been set.
