An elderly man and woman were critically injured after being trapped by a house fire, according to the Denton Fire Department.
DENTON, Texas — Two people were hospitalized after being critically injured in a Denton house fire, officials said.
The Denton Fire Department responded to a house fire shortly before 11:20 p.m. Dec. 18 in the 2000 block of Houston Place, Denton fire officials said in a social media post. Officials said that two people were reportedly trapped in the fire.
At 11:20 p.m., fire officials called in a second alarm, requesting assistance from other departments, the post states. An elderly man and woman were rescued from the home in critical condition, fire officials said.
Firefighters continued searching for a third victim but no one else was found, officials said. The fire was under control by 11:38 p.m., the post states.
The Lake Cities Fire Department and Denton County Emergency Services also responded to the fire, fire officials said.
