Police think the shooting was isolated and targeted towards one of the male passengers.
SAGINAW, Texas — An Uber driver with three passengers inside was critically wounded Monday night in Saginaw.
The 24-year-old driver was found inside his car around 8:46 p.m. with a gunshot wound in the back of his neck, the Saginaw Police Department said.
Police say a second vehicle pulled up next to the victim’s gray Nissan Sentra in the 200 block of E. Bailey Boswell Road and began shooting at his vehicle.
The victim told police he had picked up three men at “an undisclosed location” before the shooting.
“Investigators do believe this incident is isolated and targeted towards one of the males picked up previously,” Saginaw PD said in a news release.
The identity of the three passengers is not immediately known. However, police seized the vehicle used in the shooting after it was found abandoned a few blocks away.
The victim was taken in serious condition to John Peter Smith Hospital.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing, police said.
