From Thursday, April 10 to Saturday, April 12, 24 teams will compete for 12 state titles. Ten of those 24 are from North Texas.
GEORGETOWN, Texas — UIL’s soccer state championships are here, and there are plenty of brewing storylines with North Texas teams this year.
Celina girls are attempting to complete a four-peat as they take on Comal Davenport in the 4A-D1 final. River Oaks Castleberry boys are trying to win their first ever in school history.
In all, 10 of the 24 teams competing for state titles this year are from North Texas.
This is the first season with two divisions in each classification (4A, 5A and 6A), so there will be double the trophy lifting than years past! Of the six titles last season, more than half of them were North Texas schools: Celina girls (4A), Midlothian boys (5A), Frisco Wakeland girls (5A) and Prosper boys (6A).
All 12 games will be played at Georgetown ISD’s Athletic Complex on Birkelbach Field.
