Well, all those Democrat calls for unity and a peaceful transfer of power didn’t last very long. As we’ve reported, California’s extremist governor Gavin Newsom quickly called for a special legislative session to prepare for future combat against President-elect Trump’s priorities, while the governor of Massachusetts promised not to cooperate with the new president’s directives on immigration.

But they’re not the only ones. “Looks like the Dem Gov bat signal went out,” as one of my colleagues said, because in what will probably be a long line of TDS-riddled state executives, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy and Illinois Gov. JB Pritzer are also throwing down the gauntlet. Pritzker threatened, “You come for my people, you come through me.” Well, that’s a wide enough target.
Murphy, meanwhile, vowed to “fight to the death” against the administration if he believes the new administration detects behavior “contrary to our values.” Calming words.
Pritzker’s call for togetherness:
Way to represent all your people, JB:

Meanwhile, here’s Murphy:
He issued opposite messages at the same time:
“[A]s we respect the peaceful transition of power, if there is any attack on the Garden State or any of its communities from Washington, I will fight back with every fiber of my being,” Murphy said.
“If there’s an opportunity for common ground, we will seize that as fast as anybody,” he conversely added.
These governors are so repugnant in their divisive behavior. The American people have just delivered a very clear to the Democrat politicians in this country—namely that progressive policies have failed. People are tired of unfettered illegal immigration, sanctuary states and cities, epidemic crime, and rampant inflation. But these little wannabe dictators are going to preach unity out of one side of their mouths while fighting Donald Trump and the will of the people out of the other.

It was a great election if you’re a conservative. But it’s far past time to jettison some of these undemocratic, radical governors and install some folks like Ron DeSantis who actually care about more than just their left-wing urban residents.
It looks like Trump is going to face the same types of opposition from within our own country as he did the last time around, but I’m confident that he’s learned many lessons since then. There’s a new—or at least, returning—sheriff in town.
Take note, JB and Phil.
