Uvalde CISD employee placed on leave, accused of ‘improper communication,’ superintendent says

  

UVALDE, Texas – A Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District employee is accused of unspecified improper communication and has been placed on administrative leave, according to the school district.

Uvalde CISD superintendent Ashley Chohlis sent a statement to the district on Wednesday stating that the district addresses these allegations “with the utmost seriousness” and has placed the employee on administrative leave pending the investigation.

“While there may be speculation surrounding these incidents, it is our standard procedure to conduct a comprehensive review of the allegations and allow the facts to guide our decisions,” Chohlis said.

KSAT reached out to Uvalde CISD for a statement regarding the staff member’s position within the district and on the investigation.

Uvalde CISD replied with the following statement they provided to the district.

“Our primary objective is to ensure the safety and well-being of both our students and staff members throughout the process,” Chohlis said.
