BELLVILLE, Texas — A prisoner from Waller County escaped custody at Bellville Hospital shortly after 7 p.m. on Thursday, prompting a widespread search by multiple law enforcement agencies. The suspect, described as a Hispanic male with red hair and tattoos, was last seen wearing an orange shirt and blue jeans.
The Bellville Police Department reported that the prisoner was not handcuffed at the time of the escape. Authorities have deployed numerous resources, including heat detection drones, K-9 tracking dogs, and a Department of Public Safety helicopter, to aid in the search. The department emphasized that all available resources are being utilized and all possible leads are being checked.
