Warm Christmas Eve with an isolated storm chance, quiet and warm Christmas Day

FORECAST HIGHLIGHTS

  • CHRISTMAS EVE: Patchy morning fog, warm afternoon (upper-70s)
  • ISOLATED STORM CHANCE: Mainly east of I-35 after 8 p.m. Tuesday
  • CHRISTMAS DAY: Quiet and warm (near 70°), slightly lower humidity
  • ANOTHER RAIN CHANCE THURSDAY: Isolated to widely separated rain possible

FORECAST

After a noticeably warmer afternoon, Monday evening plans will consist of temperatures falling through the 70s and eventually into the 60s under partly cloudy skies.

Christmas Eve will feature a round of fog and morning clouds. Like today, sunshine during the afternoon will push high temperatures into the mid and upper-70s. It’ll be warm and somewhat humid.

Patchy morning leads way to highs in the upper 70s Tuesday afternoon, ahead of an isolated evening storm chance.

An isolated storm chance arrives by Tuesday evening as a weak front stirs up a line of showers and storms after 8 p.m.

San Antonio will only see the tail end of this, with small chances for the metro. Odds increase east of I-35, where an isolated storm storm can’t be ruled out. For those west of San Antonio, rain stays out of the forecast. We’ll keep Santa posted on the forecast!

Slightly drier air attempts to move in by Christmas Day, meaning it’ll be quiet to start the day. While temperatures may come down a bit, it’ll still be above average. Highs are forecast to top off near 70 degrees. Skies will be mostly sunny to partly cloudy.

Slightly lower humidity expected Christmas Day with highs near 70°.

Thursday, we revert back to humid conditions and a chance for rain. Another storm system will help give lift to a few showers and even a storm or two. Skies will be mostly cloudy and temperatures, once again, will be in the 70s. Rain chances with this system may be higher than what we see Christmas Eve.

More updates to come! Be safe and happy holidays!
